Paul Ulibarri to Serve as Principal Race Officer
We are pleased to announce our good fortune in having Paul Ulibarri as our Principal Race Officer for the 2010 North American Championships.
Paul hails from Victoria, B.C. and is a past member of the US Sailing Board of Directors; he has held many positions with the Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) including CYA Race Management Committee Chairman, Senior National Race Officer, Race Management Course Conductor, and Senior National Judge. He was the recipient of the Chisolm Award for Excellence in Race Management in 2002, for the ISAF Youth Worlds and again in 2006 for the Fireball Worlds.
Paul is an International Race Officer, which is a requirement of the International J/24 Class Association Regatta Regulations for Continental Championships. Paul's experience with the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) includes being an Olympic International Technical Official / Course Representative, and Race Management Sub Committee Member. Specifically he has been a PRO - ISAF Technical Official since 1990, and has been involved in: 4 Olympic Games, (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008); 8 Pre-Olympics; 16 Olympic Qualifiers; 27 International One Design World Championships; 5 ISAF World Championships; 2 Pan American Games; 2 Level 1 Match Racing World Championships; 7 Level 2 Match Racing Championships; and 53 International One Design National / Continental Championships.
